Some people are blessed to have the people in their life completely open and accepting to their attempts at improving their health.
Sadly, most of us are not in that boat.
There’s always at least one person, who, when seeing you eating/drinking something a little too healthy for their taste, will completely flip out.
Or, you just want to do your own healthy thing, and just are not interested in questions or comments.
WORRY NOT, my dears!
There is always a way to do your healthy thang- even covertly.
Which brings me to a previous photo I posted on the Parsnips and Prada Facebook page…
Sing with me, chicitas- “Don’t you wish your Starbucks was green like me?”
Dontcha?!?
Green juice, specifically, tends to creep people out. I mean, leafy green things are suspicious enough. Once you start trying to DRINK them people think you’ve really gone off the deep end.
See? Evil and sinister green stuff.
God bless the lovely folks at Starbucks for selling all sorts of green tea type drinks.
They are just a little paler than green juice. And being that I do this on a fairly regular basis, I can tell you that people don’t question what you drink when it’s in a Starbucks cup.
It’s a bit of a lesson in social experimentation… people really do see what they want to. If the outside packaging matches the perception of what they want to see, looking closely is not really something most people do. (Yes, this can go in a lot of places. But right now we’re just sticking to juice.)
So take this lesson in camouflage and run with it- I’m really curious to see what all you brilliant minds will think up.
What are YOU hiding? And more importantly, WHERE are you hiding it?
Tell me tell me tell me!
As always, feel free to share the love and sneakiness- use any social media medium you want- unless the people who you don’t want to know will see it.
Then be careful. Be verrrrrry careful.

Haha I love this post. I don’t really like cake and chocolate (I know it’s crazy) and people always notice it and start asking + joking about. Always!! I need to find a way to camouflage so I can come off as a totally normal, chocolate eating person
Thanks for the inspiration. xo
This post cracks me up girl – nice one! I love the Starbucks cup idea.
Reading your post, I realized that I don’t hide out much (at least with other people). I do however, have to hide from myself sometimes (HA!) when it comes to sneaking things like chocolate + sweets, which I have a weakness for.
I definitely get a lot of stares + snide remarks (especially from my midwestern/conservative parents) when it comes to my quinoa + green juice + flax seed, etc. My tactic has been to offer people a taste of whatever I have. Either they’re curious and want to try it OR they make a funny face and walk away.
This is an interesting idea. I guess I just get too much pleasure from other people thinking that I’m weird to want to change that! Great reminder to have a green juice for breakfast tomorrow though!
